I like to think my journey is ordinary - but I also believe everyone has an extraordinary story that God has, can, and will use to change the world.
I was born into a good, stable life in rural Alberta, Canada - we honestly didn’t have much, but I didn’t know any different. We had some cattle and a plot of land in the middle of nowhere, with an old barn that was slowly losing the paint off its walls and faithfully stored each summer’s hay-bale haul without complaint, along with old tractor and car parts.
My Grandpa fought in the World War, my parents worked long days and nights to provide for us, and I shared a bedroom in a double-wide trailer with my 3 younger siblings until I was 10.
I didn’t do well in public school, so my mom decided to home-school me - which meant I sped through my homework every day by 10am so I could spend the rest of the day outside chasing gophers, coyotes, and playing with my Grandpa’s border-collie.
I spent most of my teen and early adult years playing soccer 7 days per week - it took me through my undergraduate in college and I look back on that period fondly.
I’ve also had my share of near-misses: I nearly died from a rare autoimmune disease at age 5, and then again at age 23 doing mission work, contracting a normal virus in the jungles of Peru that re-activated that autoimmune cascade.
Both times I should have died - but by God’s grace He saw me fit to stick around.
From there, after years of prayer, I met my wife in 2019 while in my 3rd year of Chiropractic school. We had a whirlwind dating and engagement - and it was in March of 2020, 3 weeks after we got engaged, that our world stopped (along with the rest of the world).
From June of 2020 to now - we’ve gotten married, sold everything we owned to moved countries to escape government health mandates, had a baby, lived in 14 different homes, and throughout we’ve realized that a lot of what is preached about health isn’t rooted in Biblical truth.
Since June of 2020, like many - we’ve lost a lot.
But what we’ve gained is so much more fruitful: Truth and Clarity.
We’ve learned, unfortunately, that most of “health” today is grounded in fear.
Holistic or traditional: both seem to take the power and agency of health away from the individual, and place it in the hands of a doctor or a supplement, or a chiropractor or an Instagram celebrity.
From 2020 onwards: the “message” has been about what you can’t or shouldn’t do (go outside, go to work, socialize with friends, show your face, ask questions)
Instead of what you can do (eat foods that nourish, intentional exercise and movement, community, and the importance of Scriptural truth) to set yourself up to be resilient.
The truth is: you are in control of your health more than you think.
God has given you a mind, a body, and a Spirit to glorify Him.
He has given you the strength and capability to do great things.
Raise a family, flourish in your marriage, be excellent at work.
To help others achieve this, my health philosophy and mission is simple:
Empower 1 million people in my lifetime to find true health through whole food, spiritual wholeness, community, and physical strength through intentional movement.
I look forward to partnering with you to find True Health.
